About coreaiHow does coreAI work?

coreAI combines your content with market-leading AI technology to create
a unique customer experience on your website!

Using artificial intelligence, coreAI reads all content on your website—including documents such as PDFs—and provides immediate, precise answers to the questions users ask. Unlike traditional searches that display a list of links, coreAI provides direct answers, saving time and improving the user experience.

The figure shows how coreAI works. Let's take a closer look at the different parts.

coreAI - step by step

Sources

You can add additional sources to coreAI yourself.

  • Multiple websites - Your own and others'.
  • API - coreAI has a separate API that you can integrate against. Please contact us to use the API.
  • Documents - add product descriptions and other things that are not linked to from the web pages.
  • “Inline” text - Type text directly into coreAI.
  • Google Product Files - Essential for online stores!

coreAI and the Database

The sources are crawled and added to coreAI's database. It is the size of this database that contributes to which subscription is right for you. You decide how often coreAI will update the sources.

coreAI has a separate management interface. This is where you add sources and make other customizations to coreAI.

The user asks a question

When the user asks a question, coreAI interprets the question and retrieves relevant information from the database (extract). This information is sent to the AI service which uses your information along with instructions from coreAI to create a response. This answer is sent back to coreAI which provides the answer to the user. These responses can also be guided by instructions.

In coreAI, you get a full overview of what questions users have asked and their rating and comments on the answers.

Instructions (prompting)

An instruction is simply a message. We have created some instructions of our own that tell the AI service how it should respond. You can create your own instructions that customize coreAI for you and your services/brand. Examples of instructions can be:

- If the user asks about product A or service B, always indicate person C as the contact person.
- Use a casual style and friendly and light tone.

AI Service

coreAI uses an external AI service to ensure the best possible customer experience. The most famous AI service today is ChatGPT from OpenAI. Other services are, for example, Gemini from Google or Claude from Anthropic.

coreAI can use several different AI services, but we have standardized the service to use GPT 4o-mini from OpenAI. We use an “enterprise” version that provides good access to the service and ensures that the data is not used for further training of the models.

coreAI keeps getting better!

coreAI is under development and constantly improving. It is important to emphasize that coreAI is not “trained” and gets better by itself based on usage on your website. You can still expect improvements in the product as a result of:

  • Better sources such as well-structured content on the website, good Google Product feed, maintaining contacts in coreAI, or retrieving data from the API).
  • Technical improvements in the product (often as a result of customer feedback)
  • Editorial Grips per customer in coreAI admin (for example adjustments in promp)
  • They external AI services getting better. Here the development is moving fast!

What is required of your website?

It is important that you have a website with a good technical structure. Here are some invoices that have a big impact on the result.

robots.txt and sitemap.xml

When you add a site as a source, coreAI will look for two files that tell something about the page structure of the site. One file is called robots.txt. It tells you something about whether your site allows to be reviewed by search engines and it tells you where sitemap.xml is located. Sitemap.xml provides an overview of all the pages (url) of your website that should be visible for search. If set up correctly, it will also contain information about when the page was last updated. This means that you do not need to re-import pages if they have not been modified.

If these files are missing or not set up correctly, coreAI will still attempt to review the site, but the result cannot be guaranteed. In coreAI, you will get a status overview of how the import of content has gone. You will also be notified if there are problems with robots.txt or Sitemap.

JavaScript

Some websites have an extensive use of javascript and often the content can be “hidden” behind such javascript. If this is the case for your website, an alternative is to retrieve the content directly from the CMS. This is done by creating an integration where your CMS provider uses our API to send data to coreAI.

Please contact us if this is relevant.

How do I install coreAI?

Getting started with coreAI is easy. After you sign up for a subscription and set up your first assistant, then you get access to a code snippet. This code will be pasted into your website. This is often done by your tech provider, so all you have to do is send them the code. As soon as it is installed, coreAI will appear on the website and be ready to use.
